Several female-only areas (pink zones) have popped up across Korea as part of an effort to make women feel more comfortable and safe. Ryan Estrada is responsible for a fantastic Korean comic book entitled Learn to Read Korean in 15 Minutes. The comic does a wonderful job of teaching by association. He teaches the Korean alphabet by choosing English words and sounds which are pictorially similar to Korean letters.
For example, ㅂ, which sounds like a ‘b’, is associated with the a “bucket” (b)ucket. Continue reading

Took a trip to Kyobo Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul tonight. There’s a large bookseller (Kyobo Books) located on the B1 level and it’s open until 10pm. I stopped by the Information Desk and asked for a book with the ISBN 9781624120121. The desk attendant handed me this map and book locator.
