Airports usually give you two choices: shop or eat. Incheon Airport is trying something different with X:PORT (엑스포트), a new digital experience space filled with AI, robots, and interactive Korean culture.

I stopped by the Terminal 2 X:PORT area, where several futuristic experiences are set up. One of the most entertaining is X:Lucky Charm, which uses AI to give you a guardian animal and a short piece of personalized advice. Mine was a very cute tiger.

There is also X:Robotics, where a robotic arm can create portraits, along with X:Dream, which uses facial recognition and questions to imagine what kind of person you might have been during Korea’s Joseon era. Another installation, X:Infinity, uses motion recognition to turn visitors’ movements into immersive digital media art.

The concept behind X:PORT is a play on the word “port.” The X represents eXperience, eXplore, and eXcitement, while the airport describes the project as a place connecting people, technology, emotion, and the world.
Some X:PORT installations are permanent, while others are temporary technology exhibitions, so what you see may change from visit to visit. Incheon Airport first introduced the broader X:PORT digital experience concept in 2026, including AI and robotics demonstrations.
If you have extra time before a flight at ICN, this is a much more interesting option than wandering through another duty-free shop.
