Changdeok Palace

Changdeok-gung is one of five Grand Palaces in northern Seoul’s Jogno District. Also known as the East Palace, it was the residence of the last king of Korea, Sunjong (순종). While it was originally constructed in the 15th century, only portions of the original structure survive today.

Entrance Fee: 3,000 Won for adults. Free for those wearing traditional Korean hanbok as well as on the last Wednesday of each month. More info and also here.

Nearby Subway Stations: Anguk Stn and Jongno 3-ga

Plan to spend around 1-2 hours there. The palace is pretty to see in all seasons, winter is especially pretty.

Paid guided tours are available and are required for access to the Secret Garden. The Secret Garden is especially popular during the blooming spring season.

Hours: Open Daily 9AM-5PM, closed on Mondays.

Injeonjeong (Main Hall)

Cheongdeok Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is a popular palace to visit, especially the Secret Garden located within (reservations required).
